A script was run to find the best daily coverage of Chl-a
data, i.e. the least number of missing pixels due to the combined effects of
clouds, ice, missing coverage.
The coverage
(Count of valid pixels and % Clear) depends, of course, on the
target area
(mask) that was made to cover the Drake Passage. The images themselves are much
bigger and cover all the Scotia Sea and the surrounding areas. The mask
where cloud-free pixels are counted covers the AMLR region and is bounded by
white line (see below, left panel).
